Forced by the imminent death, Ravana didn’t pay attention to the wise words of Maricha and took the later along with him to Rama’s home in the forest.

With this idea, Rama left Chitrakuta and proceeded to the far south and entered the forest Dandaka.
This is an example of Rama’s tenacity of truthfulness and self control.
